I'm a Winner!

QUOTE (Myself on MyJellybean.com chat boards)
I've had an idea... maybe we can create a slideshow of images of the website and put it on YouTube or something! Howzat 4 one? I've searched that site. The YouTube ppl have no idea who we are... except me, probably. If we really wanna get famous, we need to be advertising ourselves on the sites that everybody knows about! I mean, Facebook is a great start!

QUOTE (Jellybean)
Hey there -

I think a YouTube video is a great idea. Actually we've taken this idea and we're going to run a series of contests about it, to get lots of videos submitted! The first part of the contest will launch today, so watch the General board for a sticky post about it later today - and we'll advertise it on the contests page of our main site too.

Hope everyone on the street team can enter the contest - and thanks a ZILLION for the awesome idea!!!!

Rainbow Flower - you are officially the Street Team Contest winner for October, for submitting this idea!!!!!!!!

Bees alert! O_O

So, today was the first day of the term, and right in the morning everyone in year 8 were woken up by the freakiest surprise ever! There were bees swarming around my BFF's locker, and when it was opened, there were hundreds of bees in it!!! Both dead and alive! Everyone who saw that said it was the scariest thing they've ever seen, and I was too frightened to even go near that locker. And the school rang people to come and exterminate those bees. The area around her locker was banned, so people who had their lockers there had to keep their bags in the staff office. Thank God my BFF emptied out her locker last term...
I just had to rant that was soooooo freaky! O____________________________O

I'm planning on becoming a comic artist! =D

So, yeah! I'm thinking of creating a graphic novel for my personal project (OMG that is a BIG one) next year, in year 9. I will divide it into 4-6 mini-books (cos I don't know what else I should call it :p), and it will be about the adventures of Team Fishyz! The characters are based on another story I planned earlier, and I added some more characters:
There were six young fishies who lived in the colourful coral reefs in the Caribbean. One day, they accidentally stumbled across the secret plan of evilness... The only way the world could be saved was by using the Sword of the Rainforest and the Reef, which is placed where the Daintree River starts - on the other side of the world, in Australia. So the fishies decided to depart their homeland, friends and family on the journey to saving the world. They decided to name themselves TEAM FISHYZ! Despite the numerous obstacles they had to face, Team Fishyz continued to be confident and determined, and even though they each had different distinctive personalities and characteristics, they worked and fought together with the motivation of love, friendship and team spirit... You: come on, if you keep ranting you'll be spoiling the story... Haha, my friends, you've really got to actually read the story to really get into the spirit of it! It's designed to inspire kids and younger teens anyway... oh yes, by the way, here's the team members' profiles:

FLOWERCORAL
Human age: 12
Year level: 6
Characteristics: kind, caring, friendly, helpful, intelligent and talented, a naturally born leader and problem solver. She has a crush on Goldie, but he only sees her as a BFF.

WHOO HOO
Human age: 7
Year level: 2
Characteristics: funny, brave, mischievous, always happy but a little troublemaker. A 'nuisance' to the team - everybody wants to get rid of him when he's there, but misses him when he's not. (He is the only member of the team who is not a real creature, but a plastic toy whale who got dumped in the sea by its previous little owner.)

GOLDEN RETRIEVER (Goldie)
Human age: 14
Year level: 9
Characteristics: mysterious, rebellious, kind of destructive yet smart, has a witty mind and a sensitive heart under such a mask. Has a spiky back fin that resembles a crazy mohawk hairdo.

FASHIONISTA
Human age: 14
Year level: 9
Characteristics: spoiled, conceited, sophisticated, high maintenance, always dressed fashionably, has a crush on Goldie and is jealous of Flowercoral.

SHARKIE
Human age: 12
Year level: 6
Characteristics: tough, aggressive, sort of a bully, overly impulsive when it comes to fighting, and is Goldie's rival as they are both skilled at fighting... and PE. Flowercoral's classmate.

SHELLIE
Human age: 1, 7 for dog age though
Year level: um… pets don’t go to school? Obedience school? She's in... wait, she doesn't go to one...
Characteristics: fun, cute, tender, Flowercoral’s beloved pet shell

Nostalgia

I just feel so nostalgic sometimes.
It's about a place that I have been growing up at from the age of 5 to 10.
5 years...
That area, from my old home on Trenton Tce to nearby Lindblom Park, had always been so vivid in my memory.
The greenery. The dazzling brightness of flowers after the rain in springtime. The sounds of birds chirping and raindrops hitting the roof rhythmically.
My own garden and my neighbour's gardens.
The landlord's colourful indoor garden.
The landlord's cat called Billy.
The old wooden playgrounds, one on either side of Dry Creek, flowing through my memories.
The sky filled with stars in summer night.
The golden colour of sunset showing subtly through the gaps between branches, thick with gum leaves.
The rocks settling in Dry Creek, which I always climbed on whenever I wanted to cross the river.
The tracks winding through peaceful forests.
The small, colourful lights shining silently on the Christmas tree by the house on the nearby street, when I went with my family for walks on quiet summer dusks close to Christmas time.
Going into the hills to watch the lights at Lobethal around the same time in the year.
Driving down to Tea Tree Plaza.
People walking their dogs, kids playing on the old wooden playgrounds in Lindblom Park.
Even the old sign in front of the park, which is now gone forever, enclosed only in my distant childhood memories, replaced by an all new sign giving credits to the Salisbury City Council.
Those can never go away. They're not allowed to.
Not in my heartwarming childhood memories.

Goodbye Sun, Moon and Star

Goodbye Sun, Moon and Star. No three Tamagotchis had been with me for such a long time - you were the record.
Last night you left your gorgeous little boys - and I am so sorry that I didn't even watch you leave. For me, it had been a tradition that I stay up until midnight the night of my Tamagotchis' departures to look at them watch over their babies for their last three minutes on planet Earth, before responding to His Excellency, the Tamagotchi King's call to return to their home in Tama Town and beginning their long journey through space for Tamagotchi Planet.
But I didn't do the same for you last night, I was way too exhausted.
Sorry.
Goodbye Sun, goodbye Moon, goodbye Star. Have fun at home :)

Love

Your owner, TamaSweetie

P.S. Sun, Moon and Star's stats at their time of departure:

Meh new story

I'm thinking of starting work on a comic about the adventures of a young fish and her friends, collecting gems to defeat evil or something like that...
Flowercoral is a young girl, a colourful little tropical fish living in the Capricorn section of the Great Barrier Reef. When evil strikes, she was separated from her friends and family, and ended up escaping into the heart of the Barrier Reef, where evil has not yet reached and was still prosperous. On her journey there, Flowercoral met a little boy named Whoo Hoo, a plastic toy whale who was accidentally dumped into the ocean by his careless young owner. Flowercoral told Whoo Hoo the whole story, and they travelled together for their lives. During the journey, Flowercoral looked after the little ankle-biter like her own little brother. At the Cairns section of the reef, nobody believed what the two told them about the 'coming of evilness', and thought they were mad. A young mohawk rebel, Golden Retriever, thought that at the beginning as well, until on one occasion, discovered the secret of the Gems along with Flowercoral and Whoo Hoo. The three decided that it was their time to act. As Flowercoral and Goldie got to know each other better, the young girl began to feel affection for him. Motivated by the power of friendship, team spirit and the strong connection they had between one another, the trio sets out on an adventure, up the river deep into the Daintree, and out into the vastness of the Pacific to the East. But evilness looms... Will merely three kids be powerful enough to defeat such strong forces? What will happen to their homeland?...

Fashion Girl

I love art, I love music, and of course I also love reading and writing and being the #1 fan of the Tamagotchi virtual pet! Did you notice anything I've missed??? Yep, you should know. The fashion spotlight belongs 2 me! ^_^ Style etc. are 1 of my cajillions of squazillions of #1 obsessions. By the way, I'm not a copycat who falls for what's hot in the latest teen magazines and what the celebrities are wearing - I get my fashion inspiration from my own imagination! Cute, fun, girly, pretty, colourful, unique... those are exactly the right words 2 describe my style. I'm really drawn to brightly coloured clothing and fun, cute patterns such as florals. My favourite fashion item is a multicoloured floral tank top. And I love wearing jeans, too - perfect 2 show off your style during the cold winter months! In late spring and summer, skirts are my thing. I have this really cute black-and-white polka dot mini my friend gave me, and it totally goes with my tank top and matching leggings. And there's this light, breezy blue denim knee-length skirt with small multicoloured florals embroidered around the edge that's perfect 4 accompanying a simple top. And as 4 shoes, I absolutely love pumps in spring & autumn, sandals in summer & comfy Uggs in winter!
Now I'm talking about casual wear. Guess what - social's coming up in less than 2 weeks! I might need 2 go shopping 2 work out what I need. A glamorous minidress, tights and heels/pumps sound like the perfect combo! Cya laters... right now, it's time 2 go! May God bless you and keep you - HG! ;)

My New Song

I WILL NEVER GIVE UP

CHORUS

I will never ever give up

I will never ever forget

That I’ve promised to myself

I will never give up!

I will never ever give up

I’ll forever and ever remember

That I told myself, oh self

You will never give up!

Striving for my goals

Reaching for that brightest star

I will never give up

Just like an on-the-track racing car

I will never give up

I’ll try my best to reach my goals

Because I heard the Lord tell me

If I do so

I will reach them!

CHORUS

In dangers and difficulties

In trials and defeats

In obstacles, in wind and rain

I will never give up

Looking up towards the sky

A beam of golden sunshine

From the Lord, giving us hope

Breaking through the gaps between dark clouds

CHORUS x2

It's a song I've written. I know it doesn't have much rhyme or anything in it, it'll be a nice song once I've composed the music. Here's another one:

Welcome to a New Day

Last of the silver moonlight splashes into the window
As I see the morning star it's disappearing into where it should belong
I could see the eastern sky it's stained with red and purple
And then suddenly
A golden glow bursts out
And morning comes along----------

Morning welcome to a new day
The sun is shining, birds are singing
What's so brilliant is the sky!
Morning welcome to a new day
Never should you miss this sight -
And don't ask why-----------
'Cause you know why!

:)
Cheers :D

Passionate writers

Are you a passionate writer like me? I live to be creative. I love writing stories and poems - NOT essays! :D
Here's a poem I wrote for my English assignment. It is based on a scene from Shatterbelt by Colin Thiele:

Disaster Strikes

The young girl’s mind, shattering in the imminent shock,

Her thirteen-year-old heart, trembling in terror.

Tears and fears filled her eyes

As she came to know

That all her friends, her family

Will soon come to perish

If she does not act.

LUCEAT LUX VESTRA, the escutcheon read,

A flaming torch burning,

Letting its light shine.

She knew it,

It was her time

To let her light

Be seen.

The shadow lying halfway past the three strokes,

Perfectly profound

On the weathered face of the ancient clock

That used the glory of the Sun

To tell time.

A sense of warning swelled inside her, a horrifying feeling

That could choke her half to death.

So alert she was!

Her premonitions were true,

She must let them know –

Let them know!

She began her act of rescuing,

As her cries echoed through the hall

Into the ears of every participant of the busy school fete

With her voice struggling

In depths of despair.

But still,

All her struggle

Turned out to be

Useless vain.

Why don’t adults ever believe? She thought angrily,

Why not?

Why not?

The flow of time, ceasing at this very moment,

As everything

Fell silent,

As if all life had dropped dead, just then.

The barking of dogs, whinnying of horses

The many merry songs of life in the South Australian bush.

The faces of humans, ordinary humans

That were weak and weary against the fury of

Mother nature,

Turning to see,

Those unstable mountain ranges

Shivering to her mighty powers.

Here's a preview of my latest novel. I haven't started it yet, but here it goes:
The mission that sent a spacecraft to Barnard’s Star near the Solar System launched in 2063 to search for life forms proved significant results 94 years later, when Magnus, Oasis, Smash, Dusky and Peach, five spectacular extraterrestrial creatures found on a small planet orbiting the star, were brought to Earth, their new ‘home’ – captured by force, that was. They grew up suffering cruel experiments at a place known as the Institute, a world renowned centre researching alien and mutant life forms. Determined to rescue all the victims of the Institute from pain and death, and also to find a life of their own, the five courageously broke free from the Institute’s control despite the dangers that were lying ahead of their unstable futures. At young ages, the five must stand themselves up against monstrous evil casting dark shadows above and in front of them…

How d'ya like it?

Awesome Book! :D

I found a very interesting novel at the library yesterday. It is the latest book in the Maximum Ride series, The Final Warning by James Patterson. I was absorbed just by looking at the blurb, and really wanna get started on it soon! :)
Max, Fang, Iggy, Gasman, Nudge and Angel are 6 avian hybrids created from a biotech experiment, making them 98% human and 2% bird. They have wings, and with them come the ability to fly. But that was not enough to protect them from being hunted, and they must struggle to escape for their lives on a daily basis. Max is the oldest, and is the leader of the flock and the one with the greatest responsibility. She is attracted to Fang, the second oldest, who is kind of a dark figure. Iggy is also 14 like both of them. Nudge is 11, Gasman is 8 (not to mention his superability to pass gas xD), and Angel, at the age of 6, is the baby of the flock. At such young ages they must fight the many challenges, obstacles and difficulties (same things???) destiny has set for them. I wonder what would happen to them, mmm...
Cool book, I recommend it! ^_^ I don't usually like science fiction, but for some reason this book just caught my eye...
